kinect your shape

Current weight 292
Feelings today: I HATE HEADCOLDS
In other news: I stuck to not eating fast food. Normally on date night with the kids we go out to a burger place. Last night I went to go for fish and ended up with clam chowder and calimari. So apparently I suck at dieting. But I've actually lost weight so WOOHOO FOR ME!

Turkey bacon, you have let me down!

My homescreen for the computer is on yahoo.com. Today I got on to get on facebook when I was stopped by a little story (http://health.yahoo.net/experts/eatthis/truth-about-your-weight-gain)  that said something about turkey bacon not being healthy. So there I was freaking out because I LOVE turkey bacon and I've been bickering with Josh that it's much more healthy for us. I had to read the article. I suggest you do to.
This may gross you out but it supports what I've told people for a year about fast food burgers. Lemme quote so I can rub it in a little further.

"The Truth: Most fast-food hamburger patties begin their voyage to your buns in the hands of a company called Beef Products. The company specializes in taking slaughterhouse trimmings—heads and hooves and the like—that are traditionally used only in pet food and cooking oil, and turning them into patties. The challenge is getting this byproduct meat clean enough for human consumption, as both E. coli and salmonella like to concentrate themselves in the fatty deposits.
The company has developed a process for killing beef-based pathogens by forcing the ground meat through pipes and exposing it to ammonia gas—the same chemical you might use to clean your bathroom. Not only has the USDA approved the process, but it's also allowed those who sell the beef to keep it hidden from their customers. At Beef Products’ behest, ammonia gas has been deemed a “processing agent” that need not be identified on nutrition labels. Never mind that if ammonia gets on your skin, it can cause severe burning, and if it gets in your eyes, it can blind you. Add to the gross-out factor the fact that after moving through this lengthy industrial process, a single beef patty can consist of cobbled-together pieces from different cows from all over the world—a practice that only increases the odds of contamination."

Nasty right? RIGHT?!?!? Next time you get full off of a dollar menu ask yourself how that pig anus was. I'm particularly fond of the hooves and eyes. Excuse me while I vomit. Not sick yet? Try going to http://www.backwardshamburger.com/That's where I first heard about fast food burger meat. I tried eating a burger from McDonalds the next day, bit into something hard and chewy, and ended up wondering if it was a hoof for so long that I ended up making myself sick to my stomach.
Believe it or not I kept reading to the end where it talks about turkey bacon. After all, it was why I first started reading. The bi-products in the meat are filled with tons of sodium and very little bird. So instead of worrying about the animal, worry about how much of the animal you get and where you get it from the animal. Center cut is less cal. and less fat. Slightly more expensive, but it's bacon... bacon is a mini-god and can demand any price it wants.
The article also explained stop with the reduced fat peanut butter (YES!) and the regular sugar added peanut butter (crap :(   ) and move on to the all natural peanut butters (which I hate because you have to mix in the oil every time you use it.)
SO there's my blog for today. Please check the this instead of that article for some insanely good looking recipes. They tend to taste better than the restaurant version and cost a quarter of the price. GONNA TRY THE NACHOS!!!!!
Have a good day everyone!!!!

Tips for the binge eater

1. Do not sit down with the whole box. Even wheat thins have their limit. Take a handful then put the box away. The box is more convenient to carry? That's why they make sandwich bags, my friend. If you have the box with you YOU WILL EAT THE WHOLE THING WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT. If you are a true binge eater you should know this by now.
2. Make yourself a shopping list and stick to it. Plan your meals a week ahead. Write them down including snacks and stick to it. Not only will it keep you from picking up a cart full of snack foods but it will also keep money in your wallet.
3. Drink not 1 but 2 cups of water before you begin eating every day. Make it a habbit. This way if you have a binge panic moment your mind will auto tell you to drink first. For people like me who eat until they throw up it makes you sick faster. Don't beat yourself up. Just be prepared.
4. Avoid the drive thru. Walk inside. Being seen means YOU'RE BEING SEEN. It's not secret if everyone sees you carrying 2 drinks and 2 meals. Binge eaters avoid being seen in public. Eat there. Do not eat alone in a panic. At this moment it's good to be paranoid.
5. Don't make extra food. Make enough. That way if you want more you have to make it. This includes buying food from restaurants. Either you're going to have to get back in the car and drive back there or you will have to ask the waiter for more food. You're not going to want to do either. By the time you get ready for it the craving should be over.
6. Get busy. Don't be at home. If you're relaxing, do it outside, read a good book in the library, relax at a friends house. If you get social you're less likely to eat.
7. Keep a bowl of fruit out. Put it next to you when you're at the computer. Keep it between the living room and the kitchen. If you're gonna binge, eat the right foods. Apples, bananas, and pomegranate are the best for this. Apples fill you up faster, bananas keep you full, and pomegranate are so low in cal and take forever to eat.
8. Don't panic, pray. Meditate. Sing a song to your duck statue. I don't care what your religion is but everyone has one. Atheists appreciate themselves. Meditate on your body and forgive it for the craving but don't allow yourself to hurt yourself. For Christians, you know you can't do this alone and God wants your temple to be healthy. He WILL help you. Focus on him. For duck lovers, I don't know what he offers but I'm sure he likes your body too. Being healthy is being pure. You're doing this for you and the 12 steps (for alcoholics, drug addicts, and over eaters) has proven that turning to your religion is the BEST defense you have.
Here
Are
Some  (I don't know this product but appreciated the tips the page gave)

Other
Pages
With
Ideas
When I googled binge eating tips those were the first 10 pages to come up. If there's this many GOOD pages in just the first ten realize YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS. Everyone wants to help. This is something you can talk to others about. I'm sure if you told your friends they would not put you in positions to eat, and in fact I'm sure if they're real friends they will go out of their way to help you.
I finally told my mom about it today. I've told co-workers, my husband, my dad, my sister, I would have told my brother but I couldn't get ahold of him. Once I started talking I wasn't scared to say it.. except to my mom. But I did it. And you know what? She knew there was a problem but didn't know it was this bad. She didn't cry, she wasn't upset, she wasn't disappointed... she's supportive. That's what you're going to find. so last but not least on my list is
9. Find your support. People are going to be supportive of this. The last thing they would want is for you to suffer. If you don't have a support system Email me at Forgivenscreenprints@yahoo.com I'm here for you.

So its an end to another blog.
Love hugs and other fun stuff,
Laura.

My poo story

I've lost 10 lbs! I understand most of that is waste (poop) but we'll go hush hush on that one.
Ok, no I won't. The average person will lose 2-3 lbs of poo the first week. Gross huh? But it's called detox. When you binge, eat tons of preservatives, live on fast food, or don't eat regularly throughout the day you body can store up to 15 lbs of the junketies if you're an adult. I'd like to post my source to this but I actually heard it from my kids G.I. doctor. It's important that you go #2 (el poopo) at least twice a day. You should be drinking enough water to go #1 (pee) 3-4 times a day. Durring a detox you will most likely double all of that. What's a detox? EHow has one here but I find the easiest detox is to drink tons of water (about a gallon a day) and increase your fruits (simple carbs) and veggies. Going meatless, cutting out potatoes and rice, limiting milk, and sticking to whole grains is usually suggested but me and meat are homies and we'll cut joo foo if you come between us. What do you do next? Find a good book. If you haven't gone #2 by noon, sit on the pot for 30 min and relax. Mirilax twice a day for the first week helps also. (Again I'm sorry I don't have a real source for this other than word of mouth. My kids have a G.I. problem that makes it hard for them to go and if we don't follow this at least once every 2 months they get backed up all the way into their stomachs.)
Wasn't this a great way to celebrate 10 lbs lost? ;p I'm not done yet.
So when I started I was 305. Three days after I weighed in I started my first blogcam and I was 300 lbs. It's been four days since that and I'm 295 so it's been a week. I'm pretty sure most of that was poo (no I was not measuring it), water weight (you'll pee oceans the first week), and lean muscle mass (your body eats fat and muscle but mostly muscle so no worries on that one.)
Losing 10 lbs is not normal throughout a diet. In fact it's not healthy. The first few weeks it's ok but after that you should only be looking to lose 1% of your total weight per week. How are they losing so much on Biggest Loser and it's still healthy? They're at the gym 4-5 hours a day. In all honesty they're packing on enough muscle in a day to burn enough calories for 2 people. More muscle= more calories burned in a day btw. But this also proves my point that tons of weight lost = tons of muscle lost because these people LOST  weight when muscle weighs more than fat.
So my goal for this week is 2.95 lbs. Who thinks I can do it? I can be a somewhat shmexy 292.

I'm not posting something big today

because Im mid novel for the day. No I'm not reading (which is my favorite thing to do) and no I'm not actually going to put out a book. But the blog I wanted for today is going to have to be a work in progress. I want to get out my feelings but not make everyone read for an hour. So I'm going to leave a few notes-
1. Your body is beautiful. Love it just the way it was made.
2. Men are pigs and their fathers need to teach them better.
3. If you're trying to be a size zero you need to have more respect for yourself.
4. If you are a male you probably won't want to read my next blog.
People in the world need to be less tolerant towards negative steryotypes. It's difficult to be a man in this world but it's terrifying to be a woman. If you disagree with this, don't even bother following my blogs.
I wish I could leave on a better note but today I can't. I hope everyone is having a good day today.

Ello!

Hello hellooo!!! I finally figured out how to use my webcam. Keeping this blog will be much easier now that I will be able to webcam on days I don't have a ton of time.
For those of you who refuse to watch the video... BOOOOO!!! ;p My name is Laura. I'm a big girl. I'm 300 lbs and wanting to get down to 150 lbs.
As of right now I am classified as an overeater. I binge until I throw up some days. Food is an addiction instead of a source of life. I've failed and failed over and over to lose the weight. I will push to make it happen this time.
5t25k stands for five tons to five kilometers. This blog is my way of saying if I can do this, I would like to see you do it to. I want to encourage people to get out there and lose weight. I'll be posting things about nutrition, exercises, items to buy or stay away from, and a little personal info.
I hope that you will all continue to follow me on this journey. At 2 lbs a week it is going to take me over a year. Can you stay with me that long? DO IT!!!!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
See you tomorrow!
